IRS e-File 1095/1094 Guide: Resolving "Accepted with Errors" Status


ez1095 software makes it easy to print and e-file 1095/1094-C and 1095/1094-B ACA forms to the IRS. If you received an "Accepted with Errors" message from the IRS, here is the solution.

(If your submission is rejected, please refer to this guide to resolve "Rejected" Status.)

Who Can Use This Guide?

This guide is designed for both current ez1095 clients and new users who are not yet using ez1095.

Note: If you're not currently an ez1095 client, you can still use this software to import data from XML files and efficiently file ACA corrections.

Step 1: Back up the ez1095 database file and the original XML files.

  • Step 2: Download the detailed error description from the IRS "Accepted with Errors" status message.



    Step 3: Read the IRS XML error description and identify the forms with errors.

  • Step 4: File ACA form corrections with the IRS.

    4.1. If you're unsure about which correction to file, please contact the IRS office directly for guidance.

    4.2. Do not directly edit the XML files. Instead, edit the 1095 Forms within ez1095, generate the new XML files for corrections, and submit them to the IRS.

    4.3. If you originally submitted using another software, ez1095 can import 1095/1094 data from your previous XML e-file documents. You can then correct form errors, generate new XML documents, and submit them to the IRS.
