Is it free to update?
Current ezAccounting software customers can update ezAccounting for the same year for free.
For example: if you purchased ezAccounting 2025, you can get all updates for ezAccounting 2025 for free including 941 update in Feb, W2 W3 update in Oct and 940 update in Dec 2025. However, if you need to run ezAccounting , you need to purchase the new license key.
Should I upgrade ezAccounting to 2025 today? Do not install ezAccounting 2025 version if you have not completed paychecks!
ezAccounting 2025 installation will update the tax tables. With ezAccounting 2025, you can still access paychecks, print Year W2, W3, 940 and 941 forms. You can purchase new ezAccounting 2025 license, and upgrade ezAccounting to 2025 version when you are ready to generate 2025 paychecks.
How to check the new version?
Please click the ezAccounting top menu "help" then "check updates" to check latest updates.
Part 2: Steps to Update ezAccounting
2.2. Close current ezAccounting application if it is running on your computer!!!
You cannot uninstall or update ezAccounting when it is still running on your computer. Please exit ezAccounting.
2.3. Uninstall the previous version if needed.
If you cannot install the new version directly, please uninstall the ezAccounting.
Open
Programs and Features by clicking the
Start button , clicking
Control Panel, clicking
Programs, and then clicking
Programs and Features. Select
ezAccounting from program list, and then click
Uninstall.
2.4. Download the correct version.
