How to Update both ezCheckPrinting and QuickBooks Virtual Printer

    • Part 1: Before Updating

    Do I need to update?

    Updating is optional. If you are able to print checks without any issues, you do not need to update ezCheckPrinting or the virtual printer.

    Can I download the new version for free?

  • If you purchased ezCheckPrinting version 9, you are eligible to receive version 9 updates for free.
  • If you purchased version or an earlier version, you will need to purchase a new license key to use the latest version 9. We offer a special upgrade discount for returning customers. Please contact us to receive your discounted upgrade link.

    • How do I check the version number of my installed ezCheckPrinting and virtual printer?



    Important Notice: We no longer support Versions 4, 5, 6, and 7

    Support for Versions 4, 5, 6, and 7 has been discontinued due to compatibility issues reported with newer Windows systems, printers, and recent versions of QuickBooks and Quicken. To ensure a smooth experience, we strongly recommend upgrading to the latest ezCheckPrinting for QuickBooks version.

    Part 2: Update ezCheckPrinting and Virtual Printer

    Step 1: Update ezCheckPrinting

    If you need to update virtual printer only, you can skip this step.

    1.1 As a precaution, back up data.

    1.2 Exit ezCheckPrinting.

    1.3 Uninstall ezCheckPrinting if your computer has higher security and does not allow you to install the new version directly.
    - Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.

    - Select EzCheckPrinting from program list, and then click Uninstall.

    1.4 Download ezCheckPrinting
    Please install the version you purchased.

    Step 2: Update Virtual Printer

    2.1 Uninstall Virtual printer
    Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.

    Select EzCheckPrinting QuickBooks Virutal Printer from program list, and then click Uninstall.

    2.2 Delete the two folders if they are not removed automatically

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Halfpricesoft\ezCheckPrinting QuickBooks Printer
    and
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\Halfpricesoft\ezCheckPrintingQBImport

    2.3 Download virtual printer
    Please install the version you purchased.


    Part 3: Data

  • If you are using the same computer, your data will remain intact after the update. If you experience any data issues, click here to view the solution.

  • If you switched to a new computer, please follow this step-by-step guide:

    • How to move ezCheckPrinting data to a new computer?

    Part 4: License

  • If you are updating the same version on the same computer, you can continue using your existing license key.
    • Example: If you purchased Version 9, you can update to the latest version 9 for free.

  • If you switched to a new computer, you can transfer your license.

  • If you are updating from an older version to a newer version (e.g., from Version 7 to Version 9), please contact us. We offer a discounted upgrade price for previous customers.

    To request the upgrade link, please include the following information:
    • - Software name: ezCheckPrinting for QuickBooks version.
    - The email address used with your previous order
    - Buyer's full name and billing ZIP code
