W2 & 1099-NEC Form Filing: How to Back up ezW2 Data

ezW2 software makes it easy to print and file the tax forms W2, W3, 1099-nec and 1096.

ezW2 software comes with new BACKUP and RESTORE function. User can back up data easily. Here are two options:

1. Option 1: For business employers

2. Option 2: For accountants who have multiple client accounts


Here are the steps:

Option 1: For small business Employer

  How to back up ezW2 data

Start ezW2 software, click the top menu "Company Management-> Backup current company". You can rename and save the database file to other folder or a flash disk or external hard driver or cloud storage space.

Option 2: For CPAs

The default data folder is:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Halfpricesoft\ezW2(20XX)

ie: for ezW2 2023, it is ezW2(2023)

The database file is the .mdb file. You can COPY all .mdb files to other folder or a flash disk or external hard driver or cloud storage space.

Please do NOT remove the database files from current data folder!

Tips: How to select multiple files

To select consecutive files, click the first item, press and hold down SHIFT, and then click the last item.

To select nonconsecutive files, press and hold down CTRL, and then click each item.
